Week 3 (Collage Art)

In week 3 of Art 1, our assignment was to create a collage art of something that means something to us. So, of course, I had to do photography! Because it is, after all, my life.
Title: Through the Eye
Size: 11x8.5
I used basic sketch paper, on which I drew a camera (that so happens to be the base camera in my photography logo/watermark)
I started first filling in the camera. When that was finished, I moved on to the rest of the paper. I was unsure of what to fill it with, so I decided to surround the camera with elements of photographs; mainly portraits. These I got from a bridal magazine. I filled in pieces here and there with pages from an old book I've been using for crafts. In order to make the camera more defined, I outlined it with a little bit of paint, and viola, there was my collage!

  1. This is awesome! I like how you outlined the camera with paint so you could see it better. I also like how you mixed in pictures of text with all the other pictures, it stands out.

  2. So cute! I really like this a lot. Goodness there are a lot of great collages that people are posting but I like how you didn't exactly have a single portrait like picture. How its just a whole bunch of them put together. Very nice. I agree with the bit about the text. Well done.

  4. That is absolutely amazing! I love how it all points back to photography! I think it says a lot that the camera is made of pictures and the surrounding pictures is of portraits.

  6. I love this collage. It all looks like it was meant to be together and your use of text fits in amazingly. I do wish the camera was a bit more defined and bold, but other than that, this came together really nicely!

  7. This is so creative, the outline of the camera was such a great idea and I think the mix of pictures and text make this collage look very elegant. I do agree that the camera should be a bit more definied, but other than that, it looks great.
